On the move and on a mission!

Mya started army craling at right about 6 months. She is picking up speed quite nicely. She enjoys her toys but always seems to go for the things that she shouldn't have. In 2 years I have definitely forgot about all the little things that you can't leave sitting around! Needless to say she reminds me every time I forget!

Doctor Visits

We have had a couple of eventful days at the doctor this week. Mya went for her 6 month visit on Tuesday. She weighed 17lbs and 2oz and was 26.5in long. (75th percentile in both) She is a healthy little girl. I worked on Wednesday and when I got home Calvin said that when Ayden woke up he had a splinter in his foot that we needed to get out. When he woke up,we started messing with it and we decided that we weren't going to be able to get it. Long story short, I went back to the doctor on Thursday morning and the doctor was able to get it out. Ayden was a trooper. Unfortunately it was already infected. He was much better after he got a new band aid! That sure was an expensive splinter! I didn't think anyone would care to see a picture of it but it was bigger that any splinter I have ever seen.

Today we took a trip to the zoo. It was such a nice day for it! We went with Ryan, Piper, Phoebe, and Paxton Bacon. Ayden loved it as usual. We even made it to the butterfly gardens this time. Mya was really good but didn't take a nap the whole time we were there. I think she was afraid she might miss something. She crashed in the car on the drive home.

A Relaxing Saturday

This was our Saturday....relaxing. It was such a pretty day that we had to enjoy it. The only thing we did was go to Calvin's work picnic but that didn't consist of anything to strenuous. Ayden got to put the "fire" out, play in the jump house, and get his face painted. Mya got to visit with her buddy Ty Black and watch everything that was going on. When we got home we played outside for a while and then the kids took a nice long nap.
My sweet girl!
Happy as usual!

Making Chores Fun

I put Mya down for a nap and went outside to check on the boys. They were supposed to be busy cleaning the car and this is what I found instead. I guess you have to make chores fun, especially when you have a 2 year old helping. It sure made me laugh when I walked out to see Calvin fixing his hair and using the window as his mirror. Ayden enjoyed helping Daddy vacuum. At one point Calvin noticed Ayden was crying while he was vacuuming. He went to see what was wrong. Ayden said " Mommy's stuff, I vacuumed Mommy's stuff." Calvin showed him how you could "rescue" the items. He felt much better after that. Even though it takes longer to do chores with little kids, it sure keeps it exciting!!!

Discovering New Things

One of my favorite things about babies is when they discover something new. It is so neat to see them get so excited about something that we probably think about so little. My favorite is when they find their hands and feet. It is as good as having a new toy and they are attached so they won't get lost. It is also fun to see them start to get excited about new toys. These are a few of her latest discoveries......
